My final year of Gcse's has begun and summer has apparently left the building. So a new (school) year means back to hard work, especially as I have around 6 months until I sit my exams. I began very unprepared, still tying up loose ends from my previous year and got very stressed out to begin with, however, as of this week I have picked myself up and exceded in subjects I hadn't previously. So I have a more positive outlook on the year in all and am just praying that I don't crack later on.

But enough about that, I am posting because I felt like my blog had become slightly outcasted in my priorities over the summer, and the last thing I want is an abandoned blog.

So, training, over all summer was a really great experience. I went to the World Freerun Championships, a brilliant day out, amazing performers and skill shown, I did however go away feeling slightly concerned for the athletes. George Mayfield for example - George attempted a Double Sideflip off a 7ft high structure at the finale of his run in the competition, he landed pretty much flat on his chest, many of the crowd cheered as he limped over to the judges, but I felt like it just wasn't worth it. I didn't like the idea that these athletes would attempt movements they we're not truely comfortable with just for the crowds, I felt like injuries should not be necessary in the proceding and just gives the wrong image to spectators who are thinking of taking up the sport, especially as later on I saw a post on a freerunning forum from a teenager saying he wanted to begin freerunning so he could make 'loads of money' and 'be in films'. I didn't really like the attitude but who am I to judge in the end?

Hertsparkour, my local community forum is going through some changes, layout, image, etc all included in this. This change has also meant alot of the more experienced and herts local tracuers have been made Herts Parkour Reps meaning they are in charge of representing the community and helping newcomers begin parkour/freerunning. I have become one and feel like it's a great step up in my community, especially linked with a little project i've been introduced into, it's a great morale booster.

Training itself is going better than ever, my strength has taken an upwards shoot, improving my climb ups, and muscle ups especially. I have been training flow especially, trying to make my runs as fluid and interesting as possible but also trying to increase efficiency. I have also been training with more experienced traceurs which has helped my mindset and made me really positive :)

My sampler has taken unexpected break from filming due to my camera deciding to break half way through. So it will shortly before new year when it is actually released. Sorry for the wait!
